About NYCATT
New York City is a vibrant and diverse metropolis, but it can also be a challenging place to live. With the rise in awareness around trauma as well as those impacted by it, mental health providers are on the front lines of providing trauma treatment and may find themselves feeling disconnected and unsupported. There is a great need for resources and support for therapists in the form of a community and place of gathering. That's why the New York City Association of Trauma Therapy (NYCATT) was created.
NYCATT is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the practice of trauma therapy in New York City. Our mission is to disseminate information on advances in the field of trauma therapy, support the professional growth of our members, and educate the public about the benefits of trauma therapy. We believe that by bringing together professionals in the field of trauma therapy, we can elevate the quality of care for those who have experienced trauma.
At NYCATT, we understand the complexity of trauma therapy and the diverse cultural backgrounds of both therapists and clients. We are committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our ultimate goal is to build a community of ethical, highly educated, and well-trained trauma psychotherapists who are committed to providing the best possible care to their clients.
